THANKS FOR THE LAUGH…. if you think school is tough wait till you have a job and have to deal with crazy un-helpful co workers and even crazier bosses…. that is stress.
N,
I am kind of having similar issues. For one of my classes the professor is so unhelpful. All she does is gives us handouts tells us there’s a class next week and no lecture nothing. It simply feels inadequate. I enjoy lectures. I love learning about a subject and having their own personal input.
As for unhelpful I can relate. I have some classmates that are so quick to basically demand my notes and what not. I am certainly able to oblige. If I can be a help that in itself is gratifying.
However none have really been open in sharing their studying methods or notes (I love learning how others learn if only to see all the various ways). Or like when I get some sort of sarcastic remark when I had forgotten handouts for a class yet they are so quick to use me…
I participated a few times in a study group and had one classmate get snarky when another person in my group said they appreciated my help. It was one of those things where I never actually said or hinted that my way of studying was best in fact I did say that it probably wasn’t best but I did try to make it work. (What I do is basically Cornell type notes but mine are detailed and I make “test” questions out of the notes).
I am mostly feeling a bit exhausted and just a bit unsure how to feel. I don’t mind giving for the sake of giving. However usually the minimum I expect is basic niceness (that should already be there) and usually what I would like expect back is simply their look into the information to make sure that we as a group didn’t miss anything…
But I am trying to make the most of it. (:
