Wow! Great image!

Thank you. Given the robe, my guess is that background stories will tell that Rumple is the reason why Ruby becomes a wolf, and needs the robe to prevent that; that the robe is somehow a “means of grace” in some respect. If I am right, and this is how all of this ties together, I’d say that Ruby has a very large role to play in being an (at least, intended) vehicle for justice. This might explain her presence in pictures taken (at vancityfilming) published from the filming of “Tiny”.

Red is a good guess if Rumplestiltskin is indeed the wizard who gave Granny the enchanted cape to prevent Red’s transformation every full moon. That would make a lot of sense.

My guess : The Miller’s Daughter

I don’t know why though…just a feeling!

I really like this idea, too. I agree that this image likely comes from “The Millers’ Daughter” episode. Why? Well, the miller’s daughter is none other than Cora! And Cora is also the Queen of Hearts, who wore a lot of red! Perhaps Rumpel wearing red somehow foreshadows that outcome. Perhaps Rumple even traveled to Wonderland, since he’s the one who gave the looking glass to Regina to push her mother through all those years later.

As for the magnifying glass, perhaps Rumple uses it to examine something of great value, like the ring the miller’s daughter traded him and also a small, portable child (aka Regina)? The only other time I can recall that we’ve seen a magnifying glass was in the pilot when we first were introduced to Jiminy Cricket.

Last minute thought – in which episode is Rumple actually going to look for Bae? It could be his connection to being Sherlock Holmes, solving his son’s case 😉

Interesting! I recall an interview early in S2 in which Eddy and Adam said they wanted to originally make Sheriff Graham into Sherlock Holmes but they couldn’t because they didn’t have the rights at the start of S1. However, it’s entirely possible they’ve since acquired the rights and want to do yet another mash-up of Rumple as the greatest detective of all time!
