A lot of the times, when we talk freely of our emotions, they don’t always make sense. Emma wished to be with them and not seperated. She wanted a loving family–but she always thought that they simply did not care for her. She probably thought they did not love her–she is both joyed and shocked that they love and want her. 🙂

I also think there is resentment. When Snow White says that they gave her up for her best chance, she counters that they did so for everybody.
