Could it be so that Storybrook is NOT actually IN our world ? it’s just a part of Fairytaleland sort of branched out.. That’s why it is called Storybrook, because it is a Story Book world.
And that’s why the barrier ‘spell’ is still in place, because it is not really a part of the world wich surrounds it. And that is why magic can exist there and still our world is a world without magic, exept for love maybe… but who says ‘twu wove’ exists in our world ? If that’s the kind of love that is magical.

Gypsy- So, if Fairy Dust powers the ‘world’ and gives light to the ‘world’ – there is no ‘world without magic’.
Not even ours

Fairydust is made from diamonds wich are made from carbon. Carbon is one ‘ingredience’ in stars wich powers them, burns and makes them shine. That’s what gives light to the world
