I really don’t get the feeling they’d kill him off. If he is in fact Pinocchio, that means he has a very particular connection to Emma that no one else has, that they’re the only two characters from FTL that escaped the curse as children. That relationship has so much potential for development, and I’m not even strictly talking in a romantic sense, I mean that once Emma realises who they both are, she’ll have a bond with him like she’s never had with anyone in her life. They’ll pretty much be like family.
Also, the last guy Emma started to open up to and develop an emotional connection with, they killed him off. I doubt they’d pull that trick again, especially not in the first season. Or at least I hope they don’t and would be bummed if they do.
