I’m obviously insane, because I’d like someone to open a portal to the past and bring back Daniel.(g) I thought that arc was done too quickly: he’s back, poof, he’s dust. Failing that, someone new. Swan/Queen could work in that they’re both strong female characters, but I never quite get past the idea that Regina’s Emma’s stepgrandmother, not her contemporary. Archie might be good for Regina, but I think he’s a bit too gentle for her: Regina’s pretty intense. (Although that could depend on the writing.) Hook just doesn’t seem to fit, either: he doesn’t seem anywhere near getting past losing Milah. For that matter, I’d like to see her portalled out of the past, even temporarily: her telling Rumple that she’d never loved him took some nerve and she’d obviously developed some self-awareness after becoming involved with Hook. Seems a shame to have let that all go to waste.
