Maybe it was Robert that said at first Rumpel was supposed to only be in one episode, but then like i said they got him and so they decided to do more with the character. I have listened to too many interviews to have any clue where that was from though.
I mean the father is Bae, i have thought that they were being ridiculously obvious about the fact for at least six months. If he isn’t i will be happily surprised, but it is quite clear that now they intend for Bae to be the father even if they had different thoughts at the time of the pilot. They also considered killing Charming, so clearly they were throwing things all over the place at that time.
