Even though I WANT Emma to believe, I wouldn’t believe that BS at all if I were her. 😆
WORD 😆 Though part of me would WANT to, coz let’s face it, it’s kinda cool. LOL But Emma’s very logical, and we heard her say in this ep she doesn’t have time for faith. So looking at the Storybrooke happenings with her mentality, yeah, I don’t see why she’d be inclined to believe any of it.

He didnt come clean – he didnt tell Emma what he did – we saw a flash back yes, but he never said Im sorry I left you, we are all in this position because I didnt follow through with the promise I made & now you are paying for it – what can I do? How can I make you believe? All he’s done is get frustrated she’s not believing his story & a book full of pictures for crying out loud- how is that her fault.
I believe his anger and frustration isn’t completely aimed at Emma, he’s also angry with himself for not having done what he was supposed to. He hadn’t realised the full implications of not keeping his promise until now. But now the realisation that his stuff up has doomed everyone in Storybrooke, including himself, has hit him square in the face, and he’s desperate and angry at himself for failing more than anything. We saw this in the scene with Marco at the end, where August confessed he wasn’t the good man his father had hoped he’d become.

But sorry we just dont see August in the same light – Im a very just & logical person due to circumstance (wasnt your typical kid growing up as had to help raise all 3 of my younger siblings from the tender age of 6yrs old on- so have a very different view of right & wrong I guess from taking that responsibility on at a young age & is probably why I wont cut August any slack there- it’s not impossible & he was down right selfish then hasnt owned up or admitted to it- not out right anyway & that I cant stand )
That’s fair enough that your own personal experience will colour your view of the character. But don’t forget that Pinocchio had all this additional knowledge of FTL, the curse, and Emma’s destiny which now rested on his 7 year old shoulders, AS WELL AS having to figure out this whole new world and how to survive in it all on his own, without his father or friends, who for all he knew had died when the curse hit. It’s not like he could go to anyone and explain all those burdens he was carrying, he was completely alone. Frankly, all things considered, I think it says alot about the character that he turned out as well as he did. He’s not a junkie or a criminal, he found his way in the world, looked after himself, seems kind hearted (IMO), and is now trying to make up for his one big mistake.

I think August is a very complex character who struggles with an inner desire to do the right thing.
Anytime you write something about August, I’m just gonna reply with, “what slurpeez said,” OK, coz you totally seem to be in my head regarding the character right now. 🙂
