I think it’s so cool that right now Emma just thinks that she is finally allowing herself to let people “in” and have some friends, and so she thinks of those people as her family – not realizing that they they really ARE her family. But deep down there is some kind of emotional bond there that must be understood because she IS awfully protective of MM. And I think it’s always very sweet how MM looks very motherly toward Emma – like she was having an emotional break through moment when she acknowledged that she had friends. But it makes me laugh when I think of Emma and David. I get the feeling their moments together are more like a pre-teen girl with her father – kind of like when you are embarrassed by things he does and when you want to be dropped off at the corner so no one knows he’s your dad – since he always seems to say and do the wrong thing. Poor David.
