And if her mother is the Miller’s daughter and not Regina then maybe instead of having her know his name as in the original story she has the dagger. That would mean Gold was looking for the dagger and could explain his digging. It could also explain why he does deals with Regina because somehow her family has power over him. I don’t know. I just think there could be a lot of plot there if they did that.
