“Do this one last favour for me, and you can give her the life she deserves.”
And after they go through the hat:
“I forgot how magnificent you are.”
So he’s certainly done favours for her before that involved the use of his power.

Yeah, if she had something to do with it, I doubt he knows the extent of her involvement, even if he may have his suspicions.
