To adress the point by Lostuponatime. The Legend of King Arthur, is that he was a King somewhere in Britain, he’s a British symbol. It’d be perfectly possible to have a hunchback called Quasimodo, and a Gypsy called Esmerelda etc, but just don’t have the setting at the Notre Dame/ Paris.

If memory serves, the casting call for Lancelot mentioned he was British, but, yeah, he didn’t exactly sound it. Maybe they couldn’t find an actor who could fake the accent convincingly, so scrapped the idea.
It doesn’t really make sense, as if he was British that would mean that Britain was in Fairytale land not the real world 😛 Also same goes for the pilot ep where Dracula as seen in the book, Dracula took place in Transylvania, Romania, a real place. The writers just have to gloss over these and remove references to the actual place, ie Britain, Translyvania, Notre Dame/Paris
