I got bored one wet afternoon & done a name meaning search on each of the main charaters ( (at the time we were up to like ep 5 or 6)- Here’s what I got for Mary Margret:

Mary = bitter or sea of bitterness. Margret = pearl, probably ultimately a borrowing from Sanskrit. Saint Margaret, the patron of expectant mothers, was martyred at Antioch in the 4th century. Later legends told of her escape from a dragon. Blanchard = White, also derived from a Germanic personal name composed of the elements “blanc”, shining, white, beautiful, plus the second element “-hard” brave, hardy, strong. Hence the name may have been given to a person with the above characteristics.

Ill start a thread with all the other name meanings I got as will – some are Very clever 🙂
