But we know that Rumpel wasn’t protected from the curse. He didn’t get his memories back until he heard Emma’s name in Granny’s inn in the Pilot. and that was because he traded the her name for information about the curse. I just don’t get why it makes sense that Rumpel would have a plan that would involve him getting locked up because there seems to be no gain from it.
