I have a somewhat cooky theory about Lacy and how she might eventually regain her Belle identity. At Paley Fest, Emilie de Ravin said that Belle was “lost” and she got chastised for that choice of word. Lana Parrilla exlaimed, “She said it, not me!” Why? What is it about that word that matters so much? At first, I thought it was because Emilie was an actress on “Lost” and so it was considered really corny to bring that show up.
Yet, it seems like Belle has lost more than her memory; she has lost herself. Is it possible that her soul is in the Netherworld and Emilie’s use of the word “lost” was a major clue to Belle’s fate? I know it sounds really far-fetched. Yet, Adam and Eddy also said that they’d mapped out the fist part of S1 to tie back in to where S2 is head. And what happened in the first part of S1? The wraith happened and Prince Philip’s soul was lost in the Netherworld. Maybe, just maybe, Mr. Gold will have to rescue Belle’s soul?
