Having experienced that, does anyone really think he’d trust Hook with Henry’s safety? For all he knows Hook’d do that just so he can extort Peter Pan of something.
Depends what’s come to pass in NL by the time Nealfire catches up with them again. Hook, Rumple, and Regina, will likely all be willing to engage in underhanded activities in the quest to get Henry back, but it’s anyone’s guess at this stage exactly how any of them will behave. If Hook does something in rescuing Henry that truly proves him trustworthy, then Nealfire will have to acknowledge that he’s changed and will have to reevaluate his opinion of him.
I agree, but I think this is something that Neal will have to see for himself, tales of Hook’s good deeds in their quest to save Henry isn’t enough for someone so burned by life as Neal is. Same thing for Rumple.

[Turning the boat around was a good start towards proving himself, because Hook didn’t do that for himself. In fact, at the time he turned the boat around, his intention was to help save the town, and that included saving Rumple. Hook had officially let go of his centuries old vendetta. And if he went back and they failed to save the town, then his arse was toast along with everyone else’s. He put himself in harm’s way, to help save the Crocodile. That alone is a major change. And Bae told him that he’d never be able to change. Hook wants to prove the kid wrong and be a better man as a means of honouring Bae’s memory.
That’s very true, I agree.
