I’m really intrigued by the theory of the apple tree being Regina’s love interest (aka the Stable Boy, Daniel). I had always assumed the apple tree was just a metaphor for Regina herself. I have no idea if the tree really is or not, but it’s food for thought. Maybe Regina's mom cursed the Stable Boy when she found out he and young Regina were romantically involved. I also don’t know why it couldn’t be restored, if it really is her long lost love. Perhaps because trees don’t have lips? I’m reminded of the scene from Enchanted when cartoon Giselle says her prince must have lips because they’re the only things that touch for true love’s kiss. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vr8wU4aUsM It’s a bit of a silly theory, but still…
