I really think that the show is setting Neal and Emma up to be OTL’s (god, i hope so). Ignore the keepsakes they both have kept, Neal waited for TEN YEARS for that postcard and even after getting sent to prison and believing Neal took off with the money, Emma still spent two years in Tallahassee looking for him.
