I do ship CS casually unlike that Meme. I need one with Jefferson saying “OTP? How arrogant to think your ship is the only one!” or something like that.
The writers are putting in lots of tropes–romantic false leads, red string of fate, triangles all these things are just tools to create conflict in the show, and in the fandom stir some emotion.
The writers ultimate intentions may not be fully revealed yet or even decided–but they clearly have not tried to stop speculation about Hook and Emma when they easily could.
About that tweet–I don't see them adding another node to connect to Emma or she will just seem fickle or like romance flypaper. So it could mean a connection to Hook (he falls for someone else or someone falls for him–Regina? Ariel!!?) or a connection to Neal (Mulan… ? The third wheel of boring doom? Nooooo!) My preference would be Ariel falling for Hook but….back to the Hookriel thread for that. I suppose most on this thread would prefer Neal & Mulan to tie that off. Or would Regina/Ariel spark interest for Emma in Hook –never know what you want til someone else wants it?.
