I don’t have a problem with the mashups in general and was pleasantly surprised by the ones we’ve seen so far (other than genie, I still want be believe sidney is JafarGenie and not Genie himself) so if they do mash up Eric and Hook I’m sure it would be great. I just don’t currently see it yet (but like I said, I didn’t see how rumple / beast would work either and it works beautifully).
The age thing is the sticking point. I love Colin/Hook but I don’t want him to be backburnered off Emma for an underage mermaid! Hoping that Ariel is aged a bit just because most of the others should have been teenagers as well (which in the time they were written was fine, not so much for modern day, hence everybody else being aged up) so she may be older which would be good.
Once we actually see Ariel and get some interaction with Hook we’ll have more to go on. I just hope it’s not another case of people getting their hopes up for say…WoodenSwan and then it being absolutely impossible and people thinking we’re crazy for ever considering it (darn de-aging magic lol – not that I was WS shipper but I did like August).
