Maybe the curse did break completely, meaning that the curse was not responsible for all of the magical changes that happened 28 years ago. I’ve been thinking that the Blue Fairy’s words to Rumpel — “Only you would think of a curse” — might be better interpreted as “Only you would think of this as a curse”.
