You get high praise for being able to listen to the podcast and take their word for it (even when they’re specific you won’t believe the tweet rants they get about why they’re WRONG about their own characters). We have to just trust them and go with it wherever it may lead.
In a way it’s actually almost better…it explains why he was so against believing Belle and it shows just how bad one thing was vs how good he is with Belle. At the end of the day as a RumBeller it’s clear that they’re right for each other and any romance that happened in the past is just that for them…the past. For Rumple there is clearly no other and that is a beautiful thing.
