From the full synopsis of the episode, it sounds like Robin has already been captured by Rumple when the episode first flashes back and then Belle lets him go. This is followed by Rumple and Belle trying to get him back. So whatever he’s tried to steal, it’s a past event and probably one that will only be discussed on screen and not shown. Slurpeez suggested it was gold, which makes a lot of sense given Robin Hood’s mythology. And since we know Marian comes into it, I have to wonder if the Sheriff of Nottingham is holding Marian hostage for ransom. This could parallel nicely to Keith trying to woo/seduce Lacey in SB.
