1. The trees weren’t around yet (300 years is a long time even for trees)
2. Geppetto was needed to make a magical creation. (though that means at least 2 trees were used. what happened to the others? because 2 seems like a small number even for magic trees)
3.Wardrobe could only be a protection spell portal (this is kinda negated by the fact that MM and Emma use the ashes to get back)
4. The Blue Fairy is up to something. (not a theory I readily get behind but I see more of a case building for hidden motives)Thoughts?
Unfortunately I think the wardrobe was a plot device, and now there’s some plot holes surrounding it and the beans too.
Like for number 1, if they can make the beans grow quicker, presumably, since those take 100 years to grow, then I would think that with magic that the trees could be made to grow faster.
Don’t even get me started on why neither Rumple nor the Blue Fairy knew about the magical beanstalk or how Rumple somehow didn’t know about the trees with special properties that would take people to a different land. I guess number 3 could have been true at one time which is why Rumple couldn’t use the trees, but you’re absolutely correct in now that fact seems to be negated since Cora was just going to recharge the ashes to come to our world. Don’t even get me started on how why couldn’t the Blue Fairy just recharged the wardrobe with water from the lake like Cora did either.
I’d rather believe that these aren’t actually plot holes but that number 4 is true and that the Blue Fairy is actually up to something. Probably not, but with the spoiler of her turning August back into a boy, I really hope she's up to something because I want there to be a great reason they're doing that instead of just killing August off.
The spoilery stuff regarding this is really just speculation. We were tossed some very vague hints, and our imaginations sorta ran riot trying to figure it out, but there’s not even any hard evidence to suggest that we’re on the right track. So it doesn’t really give any definite spoilers away to say that some people are now wondering if maybe Bae was actually the threat that Blue was trying to rid FTL of when she gave him the bean, because maybe there was some prophecy about him becoming a powerful evil force in the future, (in other words, Bae is our Anakin, the boy with the prophecy about him, and it all ends up a hot mess). Like I said though, no specific info we’ve been given proves this, the info doesn’t even specifically mention Blue or Bae, it’s just people wildly speculating.
It’s possible that she misinterpreted something to believe it was going to be about Bae, so she sent him away. Then, we find out that she’s either right or possibly wrong, and it was about someone else like Rumple or Henry.
