Maybe Rumples wife was angry the Rumple could not / would not protect her and that is why she bailed.
Great theory! This could add onto why Rumpel was overly protective of Bae. He was trying to make up for his past but ultimetly failed agian. Plus, now Rumpel has Belle to protect.
