Maybe he is just in New York and not necessarily Coney Island.
I hope that’s what the clue meant because there’s less of a chance that Bae’s a carny then. (I really, really don’t like that idea even if it makes sense.)

And what’s up with that stranger in New York who receives a Storybrooke postcard that simply reads, “Broken”?
I think the important question to ask is who sent the postcard to the stranger indicating the curse is broken? I think it has to be Mr. Gold/Rumple, because he knew the curse would be broken when the Savior kissed her son, and he was working to bring magic to our world for a reason we’ve yet to learn. I’m not sure if this MRJ character, the new mysterious stranger, is Baelfire, but it’d be an interesting twist if Mr. Gold/Rumpel has already found him via a magic postal service that delivers a letter to whomever you wish, regardless of whether you know the address. I like the way Phee put it: “Rain, hail, shine or purple smoke, the SB mail will still get through.”
Wow, so many more things to ponder about now. I would guess that Rumple sent the magical postcard too, but then again, if Bae has never been to Storybrooke or has any idea that his dad brought everyone here but they’re trapped by his dad’s evil curse, how would he know what the postcard meant?
Regina knew about the outside world all along, so may well have the knowledge and motivation to contact someone out there.
Yes, I definitely agree that after Emma told her about the father being out there, she probably had Sydney find out who he was when he dug up all that dirt about Emma. So she definitely knows his name I think, but I’m not sure if she’s ever written him yet. She might have started writing to him right before magic was released and before Emma agreed to leave town, to let him know about Henry and how Emma turned her own son against her and now is trying to take him back, to try to lure him to town, but she’s probably not behind the postcard. I could see her saying something like, “if you agree to testify against Emma for me or to work on my behalf to keep custody of Henry, there will be some kind of monetary payment involved, or I’ll let you have access to Henry.”
But my guess as to who sent it, (and I’ve only just come up with this idea as I’ve been typing this post, coz up until a minute ago I’d thought only Regina or Rumple were candidates, but suddenly my mind is racing) is Blue Fairy…
She’s a good candidate, but I’m still unclear if they’ll actually make her the puppet-master all along. Personally, I think it would be a good twist, but there really hasn’t been a solid evidence that she has been. There’s certainly a lot of circumstantial evidence, imo, but that could just be written off as her not being perfect like the rest of the characters.
At the time, I thought perhaps that was giving Blue a bit too much credit, if I’m saying she manipulated all the significant events in Emma’s life. But what if she did? What if Henry’s dad has always been fully aware of his origins in a magical land? What if he knew Blue Fairy, because they’d met in said magical land? So when she contacted him in our world, under the guise of Mother Superior, and told him he had to go to Emma and make with the baby making, he was willing to play along, because she told him the whole story of them being trapped? What if she said, “We’re here because your papa created a curse, so you’re already involved, and this is a part you can play to ensure that in 10 years time, the curse gets broken. When that happens, I’ll send you a sign, and you can come and be reunited with your papa…and your son.”
I could believe that she’s behind a lot of things including finding Henry to bring him to Storybrooke, but as a fan of Baelfire/Emma being each other one true love’s, I would hope he wouldn’t have agree to doing something like this even if he thought it was for the greater good. It would be an interesting twist, but I don’t think I’d ever like the adult version of Bae if he could agree to a plan like that.
I have my own hair-brained theory starting to develop as I type. I think there’s another potential candidate for who could’ve sent the postcard. What if August sent the postcard to the new mysterious stranger, MRJ’s character (aka potentially Baelfire)? If the newly-introduced magic manages to re-animate August as either a walking, talking puppet, or he becomes a real man again, it could happen.
I’m not sure if he’ll be a puppet that can walk and talk, but it seems he’ll be stuck in puppet form for awhile since Eion Bailey hasn’t been seen at all, and the producers seemed to indicate that in one of their most recent interviews. This theory makes the most sense to be though right now because I believe that they know each other, so then Bae would know what a postcard from Storybrooke saying “Broken” meant. However, if August did send Bae the postcard, I’m guessing that Bae thinks that August helped break the Curse by getting Emma to believe and was able to destroy Rumple’s Dagger. So he’s probably not going to be too happy when he finds out the reality that August failed, and that his father brought magic to this world unless he can already sense it when he gets the postcard. Of course, he can’t stay mad at August too long because August will most likely still be in puppet form when the meet again, I think.
Onto the Wraith now,
Also, I really want to know exactly why Rumple needed a Wraith. He didn’t know Belle was still alive until just last episode, and it seems like he’d been planning to bring magic to SB since FTL when he had PC put the egg containing the love potion into the dragon. So, Rumple needing the wraith to kill Regina has to be a side-plot for revenge that he came up with on the spot. He must have some other ultimate goal for using the Wraith that we’ve yet to learn.
Yes, I wonder what it is, and I’ll wonder if it will backfire on him not just with Belle but perhaps with Bae too. I think that the Wraith is behind Regina seeing Daniel around, and then this quote from Lana,
The press hasn’t heard about him?
No — his fairytale identity will be revealed … that person I’ve been linked to, which is really interesting. Mystery, mystery man,
, makes me wonder when Bae comes into town, that she’s going to mistake him for a reincarnation of Daniel or something (I know the actors don’t look alike), for some reason like his name being similar or something. I don’t for see a love triangle or anything, but I wonder how much more angst that would add to Rumple’s situation if his son starts being pursued by Regina because of something he brought to this world. There’s so many ways they could go with everything though.
