No, really. In TV Guide they talked about how they came up with Rumple’s wardrobe. At first they just had him in some kind of hoodie but they didn’t like that because he looked too simple and non-threatening so they said “Let’s make him a rock star.” And they had in mind Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. So they re-made him from head to toe with those two in mind and ended up with Rumple’s current look which they said they liked because he ended up looking sexier and more dangerous. There’s no way you put Robert Carlyle in skin tight leather pants without getting that desired outcome!
