There is something there in EQ/Regina that I haven’t been able to put my finger on yet. But even though I typically want to through things at her through the screen – there are very brief moments when she shows some remorse and deep sadness over SOMETHING, and I don’t just think it is some lost love – it is clearly some kind of family situation, and after seeing how she was with Jefferson I don’t think it is just as simple as her mother.
At one point I wondered whether Mr. Gold/Rumple, in his grand scheme of things, was also planning to somehow redeem Regina/EQ in his ultimate outcome of whatever it is he is doing. I am still convinced that he wants to rid himself of his own curse and ultimately destroy all magic. But I am now starting to convince myself even more that, even though I always think Rumple is out for himself, I do think that he recognizes that when evil takes hold of someone you can’t necessarily blame that person – they always have some reason they think is justified for doing what they are doing and they never truely understand the seriousness of their actions when it comes to magic. So I think that he also want to rid EQ/Regina of her curse as well. So even though we are all confused about whether he is working with, for the EQ or alone – I think his plan is to cure her as well – whether she THINKS she wants it or not.
