I now pity Regina more than before. Simply put.. Regina is not firing on all cylinders, she’s a few fries short of a happy meal, she’s gone to lunch, the lights are on but nobody’s home, she’s crazy.

Yes, pity is what I feel for her after this ep. She made the wrong choice, like, REALLY wrong, when she took that anger that should have been directed at her mother and instead directed it at an innocent child. But considering how abusive her mother was, I guess it’s not surprising that Regina had a twisted view of things.

And I think Regina may be one of the reasons that Rumple wants to do away with magic – not because they are enemies, but because he sees her as a victim as well, even if he doesn’t admit it to her.

Interesting thought. So in screwing her over, he’s actually trying to do her a favour. He knows she’d never give up her own power, but maybe he can do it for her. Hmmm, puts a whole new spin on his motives.

As far as we know Rumpel was already a bad man when he became the dark one.

Really? I didn’t get that at all, actually quite the opposite. The only reason he wanted any kind of power was so he could prevent his son from going to fight in a senseless war. Saving your child’s life is a perfectly acceptable reason to want power to wield IMO.
