Right that opens up a lot of opportunities. My guess is that the first dark one was someone more important than “Zoso”. Maybe a very specific evil folklore character like Koschei or Mephistopheles. But I think it was original a human who got cursed in some way.

Well, I think we will see one day more about the origin of the dark one, maybe it will be in a Blue Fairy centric episode. She seemded to be the oldest character on the show.
Maybe it’s like Phee theoriezed, that she tried to get rid of the darkness inside her or maybe she fell in love with a human and tried to make him immortal and he became accidental the dark one.
