Actually, this conversation made me wonder how Disney’s relationship was with MGM after changing their park from MGM to Hollywood Studios. So, I did some digging. Learned some interesting stuff.
I was wondering why they were able to keep much of the movie scenes in “The Great Movie Ride”, but found out that Warner Bros. owns most of the MGM classics.

Turner bought MGM and sold back everything but the classics to MGM’s founder— pre-1986 movies– and then in 1996 merged with Time Warner.
