 It’s Regina’s life, it’s gotta be tragic. Now that I’m thinking about it, I actually wouldn’t put it past Cora to have cursed Regina to be barren. Would have screwed up Cora’s plans for her if she got pregnant, so she probably arranged for it as soon as she suspected about Regina and Daniel.

I doubt Cora would ever jeopardize Regina’s chances of marriage like that, and young wives were mainly valued for their ability to bear children. From Cora’s perspective, it was probably much better just to kill Daniel than harm Regina’s reproductive ability. Cora would probably have loved for her daughter to conceive a son with King Leopold, replacing Snow as the heir apparent. That way, Regina’s position would be sealed as the mother of a dynasty of rulers for generations to come. I don’t believe Cora would ever jeopardize Regina’s chances of being not just queen but also the mother of a king. If anyone did curse Regina to be barren, I suspect it would have been either Rumple or Peter Pan and his minions so that way Regina would one day be compelled to enact the dark curse.

So I’ve had a night to think about this and while I do think this is a 309 adoption of Henry hint, there is one other possibility that occurred to me last night: Emma in a flashback. Obviously the first half of this season is all about Henry: his birth, his adoption, his life, saving him. We’ve also seen a Ginny daily tweet of MRJ and Josh in which MRJ is very clearly wearing his Tallahassee outfit from the hotel speech where they decide to move to Tallahassee. What if there is more to that conversation? What if they did talk about having kids some day. In my *puts on shippy goggles* head they’re talking about how nice it would be to have a family someday and Nealfire suggests Henry as a possible name. I’ve always liked the idea that Emma would have picked “Henry” as a name too.

I’m not so sure about this theory. As much as I love Emma and Neal, I doubt she wanted to get pregnant, even when they were together. For starters, Emma was only 17 when she was dating Neal. I’m not sure how many teenagers actually want to get pregnant so young unless they’re the type who get married at 18 and have a baby all in the same year. For Emma, she and Neal were young, crazy in love, and thinking about the future, but I’m pretty sure that any mention of possible children was in an abstract sense only and speaking about the future several years down the road. Also, why would Neal and Emma ever decide on the name Henry? That name is clearly link to Regina’s father. So,of all the boy baby names that exist, plucking the name Henry out of thin air without any family connection to it would seem a bit random in my opinion.

I still think the likeliest cast scenario is that we’ll see Regina in a flashback desiring a baby of her own, either in the Enchanted Forest or even trying to get pregnant in SB but realizing she can’t due to the curse.  That will proceed her decision to adopt Henry. The second likeliest cast scenario would be Snow White in the present day wanting to have a second child with Prince Charming as she thinks about all the missed moments with Emma. Perhaps this is precipitated by witnessing the crying from the Lost Boys and the looks of abandonment in their eyes. So, it’s not that Snow is trying to get pregnant now, but it could be she already is pregnant from her and Charming sleeping together in SB or that she and her husband will try for a baby once they leave NL.
