The fact that the Once version of Peter Pan is devious means he could be the one who started the Ogres’ War which led the children away from the parents and to their death on the battlefield. This would make Peter Pan the Pied Piper of legend who was responsible for the disappearance and/or death of a town’s youngest generation.
That would be so sinister!
By contrast, it’s very intriguing that Rumplestiltskin’s first act of magic was to save his son and all of the other children from dying on the battlefield by ending the conflict. In my opinion, this could foreshadow that Rumple’s final act of magic will also be a heroic one to save not just Henry but all of the Lost Boys being held captive in NL by PP.
Love, love, love this! To the point where I think I’ll actually be genuinely disappointed if this isn’t what they end up doing. It would bookend his Dark One-ness perfectly!
Side note: In regards to stealing children, there is a part of me that wonders if maybe PP thinks he’s doing them a favor? Who wouldn’t want to go to a land with no adults, with magic and no one to tell you what to do! Wendy was obviously excited to go, until she got there and was faced with reality. I definitely think that is his ploy to lure them, but what if he honestly doesn’t understand why anyone would want to leave?
Wouldn’t surprise me. Traditionally, PP is a kid who rejects the world of adults in favour of hanging out with fairies 24/7. Would stand to reason that he’d believe that every kid would prefer that kind of a life.
I wonder exactly how bad Peter is going to be? OuaT has a knack for finding all those shades of grey. I have a feeling that whatever reason Pan wants Henry, it has something to do with his absolute faith in his beliefs. Neverland is all about believing.
Which brings up an interesting parallel to GOAT and their fundamentalist beliefs too. They had unwavering belief in the evil of magic, and now they’re in the land that runs on belief and magic, and that land will shatter their own belief, when they discover they’ve been working for PP due to his unwavering belief. They could do some really interesting stuff with this, exploring the theme of belief from the characters’ different perspectives.
