I would consider Regina a princess due to the fact she became queen. You can’t become queen unless you are a princess. Hence Duchess Catherine will never be queen or a princess, but her son is a prince due to the fathers side. You can’t become a princess by marriage only by birth. However, I guess we have to consider Cinderella a princess even though she wasn’t one by birth.
So confusing!
