no, he said “we both die” not we both vanish. whatever it ended up being, everyone was expecting death. so if they find him too soon it would be anticlimactic. it’s not like Neal where the characters thought he was dead but we all knew he wasn’t. this is very different
Yes everyone thinks he is dead and maybe he did “die” but not DIE DIE. The vanishing and the light seem to indicate that something much bigger happened.
