Gold has paid the price over and over and over again; he’s suffered immensely.
Zoso was a truly evil person and he wanted Rumple to take on the curse…………he wanted someone to take it on, he didn’t care about ending the evil by killing himself. Gold knew he was killing himself (as a person and as DO) when he stabbed himself – I firmly believe that. In TMD, he was dying of the poison and he told Emma/Neal that “at least the cursed power” will die with me (or something like that). As long as he died and no one else became DO, the power was going.
That’s not really my point, though. Point is: either have Gold be dead and leave it at that or have him be alive, really alive. I realize I have to take Eddy’s comments (which make no sense really) with a huge grain of salt because, sorry, the guy says stupid things all the time.
Oh and this: Gold died a hero – do we really think anyone is going to remember that at the beginning of S3B except for Belle and Bae? No one will care about his sacrifice, they’ll just pretend as if he never existed. That’s what will happen with this death in S4……
Nessa: If it’s Neal that dies, I don’t think Rumbelle won’t truly be happy, but of course there would be holes in their hearts that could never truly heal…….
I just don’t want to see Rumbelle have a happy ending off-screen unless we get to sometimes see them happy on; that would pretty much infuriate me. I honestly don’t think Adam/Eddy like Rumbelle……I used to think they did to some extent, but I’m so tired of their act.
This might seem like heresy, but (and keep in mind that I’m upset with the show, that my heart will ALWAYS be with Rumbelle):
S1 was magical, romantic, fantastical…….it was FUN. ONCE now is like an ordinary show; what once distinguished it no longer does. All A/E care about his bringing on as many characters as possible.
I think I’d take S1 back and deal with no Rumbelle…….. I mean, we don’t get Rumbelle anyway, so I would erase SD as if it never existed or I’d just have Regina really kill her. It breaks my heart to say this, but I HATE seeing Belle in storyline Siberia and seeing Rumbelle suffer (appropriately) the Groundhog Day of fates: separation after separation after separation. Every day for them is like February 2nd.
Yes, no SD means no gorgeous redemption arc for Gold, but they were never planning that anyway……..at least not at that point. Belle was made a regular because she was so popular – and Rumbelle was an overnight sensation – not because Adam/Eddy intended it. At the time Em was made a regular, I loved their flexibility in changing the story, but now I see that they are far more rigid than I thought. Belle is ignored by everyone not named Gold or Archie, her sufferings don’t count (no A/E, we fans have NOT forgotten that you have NOT allowed her to at least confront Hook and Regina) and she’s just……there. Frankly, at times I wish Belle were not a regular; they could bring her back as often as they needed her – and if Em was unavailable or unable to, so be it.
