Yeah this a ****e. But it goes back to intention. Jiminy intended harm on his parents but someone else paid the price. Is he guilty anyway?

I think Jiminy is guilty of pre-mediated attempted murder of his own parents, but is not to blame for Geppetto’s parents being turned into puppets. That fault lies with Jiminy’s parents, I believe, since they knowingly switched the bottles. (I’ve forgotten some of those details though, since I only watched “That Still Small Voice” twice two years ago).
