From everything I’ve read (an interview saying Emma chose her own last name- don’t remember how old it is, but if anyone remembers the reference in the article and I’ve got it wrong, please let me know…) and JMo’s tweet about Swan being her first foster family’s last name, I’ve arrived at the conclusion that Emma chose to use the last name of her first foster family.
