But the problem I have even with my own thought is that the first half isn’t the “let’s pair up Emma!” show. It’s “we have to save Henry and defeat PP who is probably slightly insane.” How much romance can their honestly be betweenanyone when the focus is getting Henry back??
Didn’t JMo say in an interview (probably at CC) that Emma’s sole focus would be finding Henry? I wouldn’t even really expect anything romantic to happen between SF if Neal shows up in NL in the midst of saving Henry. I’d think that both of them would have a, “Save Henry first, hash out what happened over the portal later,” mentality. Whenever the time does come for Emma to make a choice about a romantic partner, I think there’ll be evidence for both choices, and with the various layers of angst between all three of them, it should be delightfully complicated for a bit. But if Emma’s confused, and both guys are interested, I could see her actually seriously considering what she truly wants, rather than jumping into a relationship with either one, stringing him along, hurting the other one in the process, because I think she’ll care about them both on a level where she doesn’t want to see either of them hurt.
Maybe that’s just my wishful thinking, because having her actually get with both guys and go back and forth would just end up being an annoying a juvenile storyline, and I’d like to think that K&H have something a bit deeper in mind?
I have mixed feelings about a Tamara/Emma/Neal/Hook confrontation in NL. I do not want Emma or Neal to be out to kill her or him. I do not think that is who they should become. Emma will protect fiercely, might enjoy a bit of violence to blow off steam (her toaster dismantling, chainsawing Regina’s tree), and Bae did come at Hook with a sword, but revenge? I am not sure they’d be as noble as Charming almost dying to prevent Snow from killing Regina, but I do not think they go in for revenge.
No, I don’t see either Emma or Neal being out for revenge. Hook may be out for revenge and kill Tamara before they find out Neal’s alive, but Emma wouldn’t go there. I could see Neal being protective of Emma, because he doesn’t trust Hook. I could see Neal issue a stern warning to Hook that if he hurts Emma, then all bets are off. But he wouldn’t actively set out to hurt Hook, just because he sensed there may be an attraction.
