In a previous post I mentioned how Emma’s response to Hook at the town line was pretty weak and if they wanted to use that moment to highlight her having feelings for him, it would have been a perfect opportunity. Thinking about it some more, and considering that what Regina says immediately after was how Emma would lose her memories, if they actually wanted to show a sign of mutual love between Hook and Emma, this is how the scene should have played out…
Hook: There’s not a day will go by that I won’t think of you.
Emma: I’ll be thinking of you too.
Regina: Uh, sorry to interrupt, but Emma, there’s something I haven’t told you. When the Curse hits, you’ll lose your memories.
Emma: *longing glance at Hook* I’ll forget everyone? And how I feel about them?
Regina: I’m afraid so, it’s just the way the Curse works.
Emma: *embraces Hook* Find me again.
Instead we got the complete opposite. Followed by a scene where his kiss had no magical effect on her. Maybe it’s my shipper goggles talking, but it seems to me like they’re trying to be pretty blatant about it NOT being a two way relationship with Emma and Hook. So I’m thinking it likely won’t develop into much more than what it already is. They had the perfect chance to progress that relationship if that was their plan, and instead they totally played it down.
just saw something on Tumblr which did upset me (I should know to be more careful but I was curious…). A former SF/Neal fan decided they hated Neal this episode because he didn’t react enough to his father’s death and just stood there. Hello? Are we even watching the same show!?!
Urgh, that’s ridiculous! I guess if people don’t give a crap enough about Neal to want to understand him, they won’t appreciate how he’d react in a situation like that.
