I also agree it’s just a bit exaggerated to complain about Neal’s relationship with Tamara –but it’s like there’s this varying level of realism or fantasy people sort of expect for the behavior here.
While I do think the Tamara issue needs to be dealt with, I think it has less to do with Neal as a character and more to do with A and E wanting to forget that GOAT ever happened. There was such a backlash about that storyline–from THO to the tazer–that I think they want the audience to forget she ever existed. It’s not really fair to Neal’s character and it’s not fair to CS (see you lurkers. I can see your POV sometimes) but it’s not cause Neal is a bad guy or is swinging back and forth, it’s because A and E are business men on top of being writers and want their product to be long lasting, so you remove elements that were distasteful. I’ll never be convinced that they didn’t have MORE to say about THO and Tamara. But it got shoved under the mattress for the sake of appeasing the larger masses.
