I love the little things as we talked about earlier. I love their banter, because he brings out this goofy side to Emma. Her two corniest jokes “I can spell spell” and the one about Shadow valley’s name are things she does just after a reunion with him, when suddenly thrown into yet another hyper-tense situation. He gives her that sense of ease to joke that way even in dire circumstances. She’s much more “all business” without him (or Henry) there. You can see how that love makes her feel secure, even if it does also bring up insecurities as well. I love their ability to argue without it escalating into some kind of knock-down drag out fight, even when they’re discussing really serious subjects like how he left, and she ended up in jail. Despite all that anger and reason to mistrust, it didn’t take long for Emma to remember why she liked him or why she trusted him in the first place. I love that Emma never stopped loving him and knew it the instant she saw him again. I love that he will never stop fighting for her, and that’s after hearing her say her painful confession. I love how he hugged her to reassure her, rather than trying to force romance when she isn’t in the mood. I loved how he just wanted to talk, and she brought up making it a date. He needs to pursue enough so she can feel wanted, but not so much he’s not respecting her need to feel ready first. I love how she kept the bug and the necklace, and was playing the same song Charlie’s girl, that Neal played. I love how they both like hot chocolate. I love how they both tend to dress casually, down to earth. How they both look uncomfortable in fancy stuff (though they’re rocking it). I love how he got her back even if he didn’t quite believe everything she said. I love how she didn’t question him about his plan with a coconut either. I love how she looks at him when he’s reconciling with Rumple, and how she looks when he’s just lost him. I love how he sticks his face in her neck and hair as he says goodbye, and how lost she looks, knowing the separation ahead, the thing she feared would happen, that other shoe dropping, happening. I love how confident he was though that it wasn’t over. I love how their dream was the ordinary things most people can have, a home, jobs, someone to love and love them back, family.
