Agreed. The groundwork has been laid for SF from the very start of the show. Even if we didn’t know it back then, from the getgo, they were building this story about the son that Rumple lost and how he needed the Curse in order to find him, but he wouldn’t be able to find him without the Curse breaking, and that was Emma’s part to play, and in the midst of it all, these two people were drawn together and fell in love. Their relationship is an extension of the core of the show, and I just do not believe that Kitswitz would alter something so important, just to bow to fan pressure. Hook is one of several obstacles to have been thrown at SF. That’s how TV shows work, you throw obstacles at the OTP to torture the fans by drawing out the culmination of their love story. Even if SF aren’t officially back together by season’s end, I really do think they’ll have made some great strides by then.
Exactly! Along with Snow and Charming, Emma and Baelfire were the originally planned couple from the pilot. Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle, Eddy and Adam all knew who Baelfire would be in the life of Emma Swan. Having said that, Adam and Eddy did consider changing who Henry’s father would be, because by then, some fans had already predicted his true identity to be Baelfire. The time to change the direction of the writing would have been before that reveal, but by that point in time, Adam and Eddy were so in love with their own creation that they kept it as they always intended it to be. That is a huge indicaiton that Adam and Eddy are the type to stick with their own creative storytelling vision on the big points, namely that Emma and Neal still love each other, despite all of the pain they’ve been through. Yet, Adam and Eddy were the ones who wrote 3×11 and therefore the one who wrote Neal’s parting words to Emma and Henry. “This isn’t over. I will see both of you again.” Now, let’s see, I wonder why exactly they chose those words. Maybe because it really isn’t over for Emma and Neal (despite what CS fans claim)?
I agree 100% with you both Surpeeze and RG I think from the beginning Adam & Eddy knew just exactly what two fairytales they wanted to combine to give fans a modern updated fairytale and what better way then to spin a tale about the children 3 iconic characters Snow White & Prince Charming and of course the imp Rumpelstiltskin. So they in my estimation created Emma & Neal. Who is the product of True Love & the Savior of The Enchanted Forest. Regina said it best to Emma in 3×11 “Going Home” “You were created to break the curse” , The son of the Dark One who has ran from his father & the dark magic his father wielded. “Rumple said it best to Neal in 3×11 “Going Home” “I created the curse to find you Bae to tell you that I love you” I believe with all my heart that Adam & Eddy have intentionally weaved this tale in the direction that is going for a reason I think they planned it so that it Rumple’s son & Snow and Charming’s daughter would meet and fall in love and because of that love that they have they created Henry who seems to be able to tie everyone together and bring out the best in everyone. Prince Charming said it best in the Season 3 promo “True Love isn’t Easy, but it must be fought for” so far this season while we were in Neverland and briefly in Storybrooke we have seen the themes of Hope, Believe or Belief, Second Chances, Home, Leap Of Faith, Family, Sacrifice and above all else True Love used consistently over and over again. I don’t expect Adam & Eddy to change those ideals or the course of their story when it comes to Neal & Emma and their family due to fan pressure because some of them are captivated by the pretty face of a pirate and his bad boy immage. Yes Hook is good looking but he is not the man of honor that he claims to be He stole Milah from Rumple and tore apart Neal’s family. That incident set Rumple on the course to become to Dark One and caused Neal to eventually flee from his father and the land he was from for other lands. Let’s not forget the trickery in Neverland that Hook used to coax Neal to tell him about the only weapon to kill his father, When Neal discovered the picture of Milah in Hook’s quarters he could have remained silent but he didn’t instead he confronted Hook about it and even though he learned that his mother abandoned him & Rumple for Hook. Hook though in anger told Neal that Rumple killed his mother and how it was done and why. Neal chose to go with Felix & the Lost Boys rather then to stay with Hook. I think in Neal’s mind at the time it was the lesser of the two evils. Let’s not forget Hook tried to kill Belle in Regina’s castle, then teamed up with Regina to kill her mother Cora, then double crossed Regina and teamed up with Cora. Let’s not forgot the double crossing he did with Emma in the Enchanted Forest locking her in Rumple’s cell and teaming back up with Cora simply because she left him with the giant, Not to mention taking Aurora’s heart and giving it to Cora, then the sword fight with Emma at Lake Nostos, Not to mention what he & Cora did to Archie, Regina. Going to New York and trying to kill Rumple and hurting Emma to get to him. Let’s not forget him shooting Belle and of course teaming up with Greg & Tamara against everyone in Storybrooke including Regina, Emma, Neal, Henry, The Charmings, Rumple. Then stealing the bean from Emma which allowed GOAT take Henry and we all know what that lead to in Neverland. Hook may view himself as a man of honor but it is clear he isn’t. He hasn’t even been honest with Emma just who exactly Milah was.
The Captain Swan Fans can keep deluding themselves that Hook is right for Emma all they want but I truly believe that Adam and Eddy are using him as just another road bump that Neal & Emma have to overcome just like they did with Tamara, August and the separations because in the end Emma & Neal will get their Second Chance.”
Neal said it best to Emma in Neverland “I’ll Never stop fighting for you Emma, Never” And in Storybrooke to both Emma & Henry in 3×11 “Going Home” When they were going to be separated yet again “This Isn’t Over, I Will See Both Of You Again” (Once again emphasizing that themes that he loves them both and that they are a family, and that he Believes he will find away back to them and he will see them again. He was also trying to give the two of them Hope.
I truly Believe that Neal & Emma are each others True Loves and that they are most definitely Endgame just like Snow & Charming, Rumple & Belle, Regina & Robin Hood.
