Emma and Neal’s “swanthief” love died. They went their separate ways, but they carried a flame for each other. That tiny spark ignited and flared up (like a bonfire!) for a brief moment as he fell through that portal. Then it simmered back down inside of Emma, though Neal is still filled with that love. I was happy to hear him say he knows this is his second chance, that he screwed up. Before their “SwanFire” love can really be a full-fledged relationship between them, they must both come to grips with who they were, who they are, and most important, who they want to be. I think they both want their son and to be home with the people ( not just one true love soul-mate) who love them.
Holy moly this is beautiful.
