Is Neverland playing a trick on us? You’d think so, looking at this hot kiss between Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) and Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) in the Oct 27 episode of Once Upon A Time. But we assure you this is not the work of magic or a fake-out. Emma lays one on the handsome Hook after a tiny but much needed victory in their quest to find her son, Henry (Jared Gilmore), who is in the grip of the Lost Boys. “In that adrenaline, she realises that this person has participated and made it possible,” Morrison says of the lip-lock. “It’s a very human moment.” And it’s one that will surely please so-called “Captain Swan” fans, who have been rooting for a romance between the pair since Hook’s debut in season 2. O’Donoghue is excited for fans to get more of Hook’s backstory in this episode and says he’s always seen chemistry between Emma and Hook. Still, the fan-demonium around the pairing makes him laugh. “There’s not that many single people in the group on the quest, so maybe that’s what it is,” he says. “Emma’s not really going to go for her dad, you know what I mean?” One character who might have a problem with the kiss, however, is Emma’s former boyfriend Neal (Michael Raymond James), whom Emma & Co still believe to be dead – even though he’s really in the Enchanted Forest and trying to get to Neverland. But all Emma’s focused on right now is finding her son, Morrison says, and she’ll show her loyalty – and perhaps more affection – to anyone who helps her get him back. “The fact that Hook seems, at this point, to have consistently had good ideas and has active ideas to save Henry, it’s definitely gotten her attention,” she says. One question remains, though: Will there be more kissing? The actors won’t say, but O’Donoghue hints, “He’s Captain Hook. He’s game for anything, really.”
