I think Neal is going to have a lot of unresolved anger bubble up to the surface when he sees the Enchanted Forest ravaged by a curse that his father designed to find him. He’s also likely going to feel an intense amount of guilt for inadvertently being the reason behind such mass destruction. So, maybe he’s just throwing his dad’s walking stick out of anger at his father for doing something so terrible when Neal didn’t even want to be found by his dad in the first place.
