A popular theory is that Rumple’s mother was one of the 3 Fates who died or somehow disappeared. They were 3 in total and they were Goddesses. Also called the Moirai. They all were spinners. A thread represented someone’s lifetime. One spun the thread, one determined the length of the thread and one cut the thread.
