That was the other thing that struck me – Ruth said that a gypsey gave her mother the necklace. In the 1939 Wizard of Oz movie wasn’t the “Wizard’s” alter ego a gypsy? Doesn’t Dorothy meet him when she runs away from home and then he comes back to check on her after she “returns” home from her dream? With all the new villian talk and the costume similarities to Mrs. Gulch, that line about the necklace stuck out to me. So maybe the Oz storyline is on Charming’s side of the family? Maybe Dorothy was his Grandmother who received the necklace from the “Wizard/Gypsey” and then he would therefore have family ties to the Wicked Witch even if he isn’t directly related to her. However, knowing how this show goes we will probably find out that the Wicked Witch married one of Dorothy’s uncles – who would be the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Cowardly Lion which would therefore make Charming related to the Wicked Witch and would, once again, add even more complexity to poor Henry’s family tree. Maybe Henry has the heart of the truest believer because he is somehow related to flippin’ every fairy tale character every created!! I do like the idea of Eva as either Dorothy or the Wicked Witch of the East since, I believe, someone pointed out she was wearing Red Shoes in the Miller’s Daughter.
