So I just read an interesting tidbit on a law firm’s website that explained how Disney got around the legal issues of the green skinned witch in Oz the Great and Powerful. It seems that Warner Brothers owns anything that isn’t in the Oz books but as long as Disney changes things so that they don’t exactly match the 1939 Wizard of Oz movie, all is good. To get around the green skin issue they used a different color green and actually named the color and used the name of the witch in the movie as part of the name of the color. So I’m guessing if the Wicked Witch is going to be green on OUaT they will use the exact same make-up.
