Robin Hood supported the exiled King, Richard Lionheart-
Not sure where you’re getting exiled from, but King Richard the Lionheart-son of Henry 2 and Eleanore of Aquataine–ruled England for about 10 years though he spent MAYBE 1 year total in England as he was off fighting the 3rd Crusade. This was in large part because of Henry 2nd incredible rule and forethought that Richard was able to leave for so long. While he was gone he did leave his little brother John (soon to be King John after Richard dies with no heir) on the throne. Traditionally Robin was a noble man who went off to fight in the Crusade with Richard and the two were supposed to be very close.
